It does not buy throughput. Bulk jobs, channel listings, signed webhooks, extra seats, higher API rate limits, longer history and included Deep Watch arrive with a plan, not with a balance — so a Free account holding 50,000 Cloud Requests still extracts one video at a time. A plan is also the cheaper way to buy the units themselves: Starter’s monthly allowance would cost $24 as packs, Pro’s $76 and Team’s $199.
Cloud Requests pay for VidWords infrastructure. AI Processing Units pay for model computation. Browser transcripts use neither.
One successful transcript, API, MCP, bulk, or Radar retrieval uses one Cloud Request. Cache hits still count because you asked VidWords to do the job.
Per minute of video, Standard Watch uses 3 AI Units and Deep Watch 30; a summary is 10 and a chat message 4. Audio transcription is 3 per audio minute and needs a paid plan or a top-up — the free monthly allowance does not cover it.
